Stöde Camping

Kälsta 107, 864 41 Stöde

About the campsite

Stöde Camping is a family-friendly campsite beautifully situated by the Ljungan and Stödesjön lakes with the magnificent scenery all around. Sundsvall is about 40 km from the campsite. Here we have all the conditions for the perfect camping holiday.

We have tent pitches, camping pitches with or without electricity and cottages.

The campsite has 2 service buildings, one of which is equipped with:

  • WC & shower
  • Washroom
  • Microwave
<!-- -->

The other larger service building is equipped with

  • Large kitchen with table and chairs
  • Microwave
  • Ordinary oven
  • Laundry room with drying cabinet
  • WC & shower
  • TV room
<!-- -->

With the water so close, we have canoes and boats for hire. It is also easy and convenient to fish from the boats. The lake offers good fishing for perch and pike, and if you fish from the boat you can also fish for pike perch.

The campsite is directly adjacent to the Ljungan, a river that originates all the way from Trondheim in Norway. The river creates its own unique atmosphere in the camping area that must be experienced on site.

For those with swimming in mind, Stödebadet is also right next to the campsite with a heated pool. At Stödebadet you will also find a gym tennis court, billiards and a cafeteria. If you want to swim in the lake, we have 2 jetties on the campsite and there is a very beautiful beach 100 meters from the campsite.

About 1 km from the campsite we have the electric light trail which is a scenic hiking trail well worth a visit. But there are of course several trails for walking and cycling. Another tip is a walk to Huberget which is about 100 metres from the campsite. There you can find an old farm shop, museum, school museum and various activities and entertainment.

The campsite is about 1.5 km from the centre of Stöde. Stöde is a small town with about 600 inhabitants where you can find among other things an ICA shop, some restaurants and Stöde Church which was opened in 1759. If you want to feel the pulse of the city, you can easily get to Sundsvall. Some notable sights and experiences in Sundsvall include the Kulturmagasinet, a cultural centre packed with activities for all ages. There you will also find exhibitions, Sundsvall museum and incredible architecture. Kulturmagasinet won the 1987 Europa Nostra award for the way they restored the building with a combination of modern and antique architecture from the 1890s.

Norra berget is a guaranteed hit if you have the kids with you on your camping trip. The area is Sundsvall's city park and has animal enclosures, observation towers, walking trails, a playground with a giant paddle, playhouses, cafes and restaurants. The area is like Skansen in Stockholm. There is also the Handelgård Vinfabriken with sales of locally produced handicrafts and local delicacies. The park also has an open-air museum with some 40 buildings, including Norrland's oldest timber house and a church tower dating back to 1310.

The surrounding area and Sundsvall offer much more than this. Ask us for more tips on attractions and experiences.
