Mycklaflons camping

Norrsånna 2, 575 93 Gummarp Eksjö

About the campsite

On the tip of Lake Mycklaflon in the Småland highlands is Mycklaflon Camping. This is the place to come if you are looking for silence, peace and closeness to the lake and nature as your main experience. Sloping hills, vast forests and large rocks all the way from the Ice Age. In other words, the perfect place for those who love nature. The campsite is run by the nice couple Ben Schimmel and Hanny Harmsen.

There are a total of 40 camping pitches for motorhomes, caravans and tents. 25 of these pitches are equipped with electricity. The campsite consists of 4 camping cabins and 3 safari tents. The service building and common areas have access to showers, toilets, bathrooms for the disabled, kitchens, washing-up facilities and latrine emptying.

Lake Mycklaflon is known for its clean and clear water, so bringing your swimwear to Mycklaflon is a must. At the campsite you can rent a rowing boat, canoe, pedal boat or windsurf board. If you have children with you, they can swim, play in the playground on site or play mini golf or billiards.

Trollpackan's kitchen is the name of the restaurant at the campsite. The restaurant has a tasty menu for young and old alike. Every morning between 08:00 and 11:00 fresh bread is delivered here. The campsite and the restaurant organise a midsummer celebration every year. On Midsummer's Eve, a traditional Swedish-style Midsummer's Eve party and buffet is held. If you wish to organise parties at the restaurant for special occasions, you can do so if you give advance notice.

Other activities that can be done near the campsite are swimming, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, cycling.

The fishing water in Mycklaflon in particular is very good with several different fish that you can catch and grill in the evening. Perch, bream and mountain swim around here. In fact, fishing enthusiasts come here from all over Europe every year to fish. Fishing permits are required and are sold directly at the campsite!

Staying at the campsite, you are close to several fun sights and tourist destinations, one of which is Astrid Lindgren's World. The theme park, based on the author's books, has been one of Sweden's most popular summer destinations since 1981 when it first opened its doors.

If you feel like trying out more fast-paced activities, there is a go-kart track in Bruzaholm. Outside Växjö there is also Europe's longest Zipline. Little Rock Lake Zipline, as it's called, is located in the middle of the wilderness in the forests of Småland. Here you are surrounded by forest and lake without a house in sight. In total there are 4 km of lines to ride. Swedenzipline, which offers this opportunity, also has a lookout tower with climbing a restaurant with several local and locally produced meals, specially designed hot tubs and many other unforgettable experiences.

Other activities in the vicinity are Kleva Mine, Trästaden Eksjö, Älgparken Målilla, Smalspåret, Nils Holgersson's World and the 1000 year old Kvilleken.
