About the campsite
Hello and welcome to Alfta campingAlfta camping is the cosy campsite located right on the banks of the river Voxnan. The campsite is located a few minutes walk from shops and other necessary services that you may need. Alfta Camping is a summer campsite, open from June until the end of August, when summer is at its best in the area. This scenic campsite by Voxnan offers everything you could possibly need for a pleasant summer. Swimming areas, a playground for the little ones, a volleyball court, fine fishing waters, an exercise trail for those with legs to run, as well as shops and restaurants.
If you are travelling with your own accommodation, caravan, motorhome or tent, there is plenty of space to set up your vehicles. You'll also find nice service buildings with full access to washrooms, showers, toilets and latrine emptying. Simple cooking facilities are also available in the form of a hotplate for those who need it.
Alfta campsite offers around 24 pitches for caravans and motorhomes.Here you will have a close-to-nature experience with activities for the whole family.
Next to Alfta campsite you will first of all find the beautiful public park, Forsparken. A public park where various activities are organised during the summer. Here you can experience everything from dog shows, dancing, entertainment and much more. You will also find two fine sports facilities such as the Alfta Ice Hall and the Alfta Tennis Hall.
Alfta Camping is located in the municipality of Ovanåker. Here you will find everything within a short distance and something for both young and old. Here you will also find Edsbyn where you can try bear safaris. Here you can even rent your own bear hut, eat reindeer meat in a fire pallet hut, listen to one of the guides' stories about nature and visit a real bear nest. The guides in this area are well experienced with over 15 years of experience working with these wild and majestic animals.
Alfta and Edsbyn are of course also home to some of Sweden's best fishing waters.<br>
The fine fishing areas offer fishing for most and you can expect pike, pike perch and trout on the hook.
Another exciting activity to do during your stay at Alfta campsite is to try your hand at gold, crystal and mineral hunting. Here you can search for gold, rock crystals and other minerals together with the knowledgeable guides. Gold panning is an adventure enjoyed by the whole family. Learn how to dig for gold and everything that gold panning has to do with.
For the wandering individual, there are several trails in the vicinity of Alfta campsite. The whole of Ovanåker municipality offers fantastic trails with beautiful scenery and many opportunities for both exercise and recreation. One of the most famous trails is the pilgrimage trail, which dates back to the 12th century. It is said that Saint Birgitta walked the trail in the 14th century. This is an easy hike that takes place mostly in dense forest terrain.
Here you hike 4 miles in total along the mountains next to the lake Mållången with a mile-wide beautiful view.
With a bit of luck, you might even spot a moose, bear or golden eagle.
